Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus Christ. Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.

A PILGRIM PRISONER’S JOURNAL

Hebrews 12:2

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hi to all my brothers and sisters and may our Great God bless you all.

I would like to say thank you all for the prayers you have made for my family who was in the direct path of the Hurricane last week.  They are safe and fine, thank God.  Of course, there is a mess in the city and many cities surrounding.  The shed we had built to provide the sacraments years ago was destroyed.  I thank God for those times and what was done for His glory in that shed.  Trees are down, power and much more.  But thank God my family does have electricity, enough food and essentials that they don’t have to go shopping at this time.  As I heard it was crazy and just now things are getting slowly back to “normal”.  We pray for those who have lost their loved ones, it is very sad.   I hope that people will come to Jesus, as His return is nigh.  Well, I have a pretty cool post that I have wanted to share with you.

It is about a guy in here, we will call him R.  Is that cool?  I think he has been here a few months but I have spoken with him and given him literature and guidance.  He is a believer, but struggling with many things.  I tend to see that a lot in here.  So how can prison be a place of healing?  Well, we finally seem to slow down and place our eyes on the Healer…

When I preached about a month and something ago. A few days after, R came to me and said that the message I preached on Gideon really spoke to him.  He also asked when I would be preaching again, I said “that only the LORD knows, but I am available to Him when He calls me”.

So last night he comes to me and asks how he can get rid of the shame, guilt and everything that he has done and that has happened to him ever since he was young.  We didn’t go into details, but it seems he has had it pretty rough since he was a child.  He said the more I pray and try to put things in the past and move on and the more I read the Bible, the more I am reminded of what was done and something keeps telling me that I am not worthy.  We got talking and I said that the devil and his demons are always trying to get you off the right path.  And I did tell him that he cant get rid of any of the pain, suffering, regret, guilt, shame and so forth, only Jesus can do that and He has on that cross when He died for you and me. Now that it is done with, we have to keep our eyes on Him, and only on Him.  When we take our eyes off our Saviour, that is when the enemy and our flesh take over and tempt us and remind us of those terrible times.  So at the moment I felt the Holy Spirit give me the words that not only would help him but I could see the burden lift from his face also.  I said, you have to look to Christ, think of Him on that cross dying for you, even if it was only for you, He would have still done it.  Like Peter took his eyes off the LORD and almost drown in that storm, you must only look to Jesus.  I said think of it like this.  The more you focus on your problem, the more that problem is at the front of your mind.  Even if you are trying to wish it away or get rid of it. But the more you focus on the LORD and living in His will, the LORD will be at the front of your mind and you wont even spend time thinking of it.  You have to live fully for the LORD, He has to be your everything and all those things will be wiped away.  Yes, we remember hard times, but it wont affect who we are because He is living through us and then and only then we will be free!!!  Because the Truth, our LORD Jesus Christ will make us free indeed!!!.

You have to believe R, and he is.  Praise the LORD.

I love you all my brothers and sisters

May God bless and guide you all.
