The Epistle of Jonathan David, the servant of the Lord to the Spanish Pentecostal Church.

Jonathan David, prisoner of Jesus Christ and servant of our God the Father and vessel moved by the Holy Spirit to bring the Gospel of Christ to a lost world.

My beloved brothers and sisters. I thank God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ for you.

When my son Jonny told me of your prayers of love for me, my spirit was encouraged within me. You know that the persecution and suffering that we, the children of God, endure for His name, unites us even more. I have never met you in person, but I feel you here in my spirit. Your prayers support me to continue fighting in this battle where our Lord Jesus Christ called me before I was born. You, my brothers and sisters, are fulfilling what is said in Hebrews 13:3, and God will bless you for that. Thank you for your love for me.

The battle has intensified and the enemy is upset because every day more people come to Christ. As the Church of Christ that we are, we need to fight harder than ever against the kingdom of darkness. But not with the human strength that you have because your own strength will faint, I promise you, believe me, I know.

We have to be moved by the Holy Spirit because in Him there is power and it is a power that never ends. Hallelujah.

I am a simple man, so I want to simplify things a little. Sometimes I think that when we read the Word of God about how we should live when we come to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we make a very long list and we get discouraged. We ask ourselves, “How can I accomplish so many things?” But it should not be like that, my beloved. Look at what the Apostle Paul says in Galatians 5:1-“Stand firm therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with the yoke of slavery.”

Living in holiness should not be a burden for us, we should feel free in Christ. Yes, of course, the spiritual battle is hard, but if you live in the freedom of Christ you will be moved by the Holy Spirit. But you ask me, like Jonathan? How?

I am going to take you to some Bible passages that have helped me, and when I am down the Holy Spirit brings them to my memory.

In Ephesians 2:8-10 it says- “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”

We are saved my brothers and sisters by the grace of our Almighty God. And only through faith in Christ Jesus who died for our sins, was buried and resurrected to give us eternal life. And as it says in verse 9- not by works. That is a very important point to have that freedom in Christ Jesus.

This is where we, who are saved, put a huge weight on our shoulders and even though we fight to please God, it is very difficult, or even impossible. But of course, it is. Because you cannot please God by your own strength, only by faith as it says in Hebrews 11:6. But the “modern” world does not know what it is to live by faith. So they depend on their own strength and are not guided by the Holy Spirit. But look at verse 10 of Ephesians chapter 2. It says that we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. In other words, when you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, the good works that will be done in your life are from God. We cannot take any of the glory, and if we believe that it is from us, right there in those moments we are failing. I want you to remember that the fruits of the Spirit are those same fruits of the Spirit. Not from Jonathan David, not from you, not from any man or woman. So, if the fruits are from the Spirit and it is something that man cannot produce by himself, how can I produce it in my life? Well, that is simple, maybe it is not easy, but it is simple to know how. Look at what Galatians 2:20 says – “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Your life is not yours!!! You were bought with the blood of Christ!!!

You have to live for Christ, not for yourself. That way you will see that you will live by faith and that way the Holy Spirit will move greatly in your life and you will please God. Because that way and only that way will you live in the will of God for your life. (I recommend that you read Paul’s Epistle to Galatians. But very slowly and meditate on the Word.)

My beloved brothers and sisters, ask yourselves: Do I live for myself? Or do I live for Christ? Not all of us are pastors, or missionaries, or any other leadership position in the Church of God. But all of us who are saved are called to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Do you, do it? At work, to your family, to someone in the supermarket? Or to a beggar, an enemy? I promise you that if you hear me, I will do it.
