“Faith in the Storm: Finding God’s Provision During Lockdown”
Hello and praise God to you all, this has been a very trying week as we inside have been on an Institutional Lock Down where we are confined to our cells which is basically, living in an 8X12 cell with two bunks, you and your room-mate, a toilet, and a sink.
This Lock down started Wednesday last week due to a Physical Altercation between two different groups of men of different Nationalities. (Considered a Race riot). The incident occurred at their workplace and we were not around it which is the first reason to Thank God for. However, we have not been able to shop for almost 6-7 weeks due to the annual Inventory and thus we have been without commissary for weeks (Plus this lock-down). The day we were to shop, this lock-down occurred.
We would normally be in our cells for the entire period during lock-down, coming out for an hour or so on the third day to shower. By the grace of God, the Administration came around and consulted with the individual leaders of the groups involved in the altercation and peacefully resolved the situation. Now that God moved on our behalf to allow us to come out on Friday Oct. 3, 2024 instead of still being locked down is a blessing and a Testimony.
The Warden had declared a 30-day lock down if any such incident were to occur and now in this case (occur again). Now we are believing that tomorrow Oct. 8, 2024 the Institution will open up fully and allow us to shop. The food they serve here isn’t anywhere near the best and if it were, the portions are rationed out in VERY SMALL increments.
I am learning how to be content and how to Thank God no matter what and although this is a VERY trying time for us believers, I am standing firm believing that God ALWAYS PROVIDES! Thank you and have a blessed day!
