Jonathan David to all my fellow servants and warriors in this battle we fight in. It isn’t over yet, so lets not give up. Especially since we know the victory is ours through Christ Jesus our LORD. I love you all and pray that more people will join the winning side that we are on. It might not look or feel like it right now. But if it did, we wouldn’t need to have faith, which is what pleases our heavenly Father.
Just the other day there was a movie on the TV here. It is one of my favorite movie characters. You and I know him as Rambo. Most believers will be like:”I don’t think that is a very good movie,Jonathan”. Well, maybe we don’t agree with everything in the movies and many things are ungodly, I get it. But hear me out. A brother of mine in Christ and I had a good correspondence about the Rambo movies. Yes, he is a Rambo fan also. We were both discussing how Rambo is represented as a saviour/hero type. So if we look at it spiritually, we see someone who is liberating the prisoners, helping the poor and needy and destroying the enemy. He gets bloody, tortured,he fights,, gets shot at and is in harm’s way for others. Who does that relate to in ways? Physically, Jesus was tortured, bloody, abused, pierced and even crucified. Why?
To bring us salvation. Praise His Holy Name!!!
Now, Spiritually it wasn’t like that. He, our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ, crushed the enemy, satan and his minions. Not only that but through Him we can overcome this world and the sin that so weighs us down. Through His blood we are free!!! Amen. (I am not comparing Rambo to Jesus, so don’t be mistaken about that. No one compares to the LORD.)
Well, getting back to what I was trying to say, before the “disclaimer” for all those that might be offended. First, there is no time for a pansy attitude people. We must be warriors. In Rambo, the 4th movie, where he was taking a group of mercenaries to rescue a group of missionaries who had been kidnapped. A few of the mercenaries wanted to turn around and leave seeing the battle was more than they “signed” up for. Rambo says something like: ” No one wants to be here, but this is who we are, this is what we do”. Of course I couldn’t watch the rest of the movie cause I was locked down, a bit annoying. I still got what I wanted from the bit I saw. People are perishing, going to hell and need to be saved. There are believers also who need to be woken and rescued from the grasp of satan. Who has rendered them useless in the Kingdom of God.
I want all to know that we are the broken, the outcasts, the hated, but we are also the warriors of God. 2 Timothy 2:4 says-
“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life: that he may please Him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” We are the ones doing the job that not many want to do, we are the chosen few. In Samuel 16:12-13, speaking of David, it says-” And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise anoint him: for this is he. Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.”
David did nothing to earn that anointing or to be chosen by the LORD. That was the LORD’s doing. To the chosen of the LORD, the elect of God, we receive the Spirit of the LORD. So why not walk in His Spirit if it was freely given to us?
I like what Rambo says-” I would rather die for something than live for nothing”. No one said it was going to be easy. So why go at it alone? But I will go even further than what Rambo said. In 2 Timothy 2:9-12 it says-” Where in I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the Word of God is not bound. Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with Him, we shall also live with Him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, He also will deny us: If we believe not, yet He abideth faithful: He cannot deny Himself”.
Now that is living for something people!!! My life is His!!! Praise the One and only King of kings our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ!!!
Now I would like to give a brief testimony on how I saw the LORD open the door for me to preach this past weekend. His Word is all Powerful and nothing or no one can or will stop Him. Ever!!!
(Update)
Last Saturday I was scheduled to preach in the Spanish service from 1pm-3pm. At 12:30pm they made a Recreation Move (What is called a Controlled Movement). Once 10 minutes are up from that “move”, then there is no moving until the next move call. So at around 12:40pm I went to the main door and saw the CO coming in and asked him if the 1 pm move was on soon. He said no, we just added the church move to the Rec move. I said that cant happen, its always at 1pm for church service. He then said well there wont be a move at 1pm. I asked if he could call the chaplain because I need to go to the chapel. He said nope and there will be no move. I didn’t get frustrated, I was just thinking to myself, “What is going on? Today of all the days.”
So I sat down at the table closest to the door with my Bible and began to pray. I prayed, “Lord, look, I will accept if You don’t want me to preach today, if that is Your will. But I truly want to, I have prepared and been led this week to preach this message. SO please do something to move me to the chapel. People need to hear this message. And I sat there and waited.
I might have been a bit stubborn in my mind. Because I said to the LORD, that I was going to sit there to see if He would do something, I wasn’t giving up. At 1pm the CO looks out of the office and says “Religious Move”. Time to go to work, I thought. I was the first one to head out. And as I walked out alone on the compound, I felt the LORD showing me that He opens doors that no man can shut. For those that will do His will, for those that will speak His Word. Nothing or no one can stop or contain our LORD Jesus. So if we are in His will, that is when we see the Red Sea divided, the sick healed, the dead rise and so much more. When I got to the chapel, the other elders of the church were relieved, looks like they also had written me off. I also found out that I could only preach until 2:30pm, not 3 pm. For only about an hour with so much to say, but I thanked the LORD and after we sang, I was invited to the pulpit. The guy who introduced me said” Just as the LORD used Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, today the LORD has brought us a man who is here for serving Him.” He kind of was saying in other words, “to lead the people”. I got the Moses look also, haha. My beard is to my stomach and hair to about my midback, a rugged looking guy I am.
So I went on to tell them how the devil didn’t want me to give them this message today, but the LORD did. And He made it happen, cause I am here now. I preached on Daniel chapter 3 and the topic was Persecution. A sign of a revival is that you are being persecuted. Because the enemy cant stand when we shine the glorious Light of our LORD. I also referenced to Isaiah 43:1&2, Isaiah 48:10&11, I Peter 4:12&13, 2 Timothy 3:12, and a few more. Around 2:30 pm when I should be wrapping up and seeing I had everyone’s attention, due to the message. I was hoping for more time to speak about my life a bit, my testimony. Then one of the guy holds up 3 fingers and basically tells me go to 3, we have until 3. I said praise the LORD. Then I shared my Hot chocolate story. When I was a kid the LORD showed Himself very personally to me and it was a big thing in my life and still is. As I tell it I almost always cry and when I was I looked up and saw many men in tears. That is not normal in prison, it is a sign of weakness, but I believe we all need it. Jesus wept, who are we that we shouldn’t? He catches our tears. Then I told them a bit about why I was here, for preaching the Gospel and healing the sick. How we were curing Covid thanks to the LORD., At the end a guy came up and said, was your dad in Picota prison in Colombia and your brother? I said yes, he said I was with him and it is true what you are saying. No one went to the hospital, your dad was healing them with the Chlorine Dioxide. He was telling others, its true, what this man says is true, I was there. If you would like to hear my Hot Chocolate story, I think our brother Dick has it recorded. Maybe he can add the link.
Jonathan tell about his Hot Chocolate request
I must stop here for now, but I will be back. Another movie character hahaha. I love you all so very much.
I also would like to say, that you might not like what you have been chosen for. You might fight against it. But it is what you were made for. This is who we are whether we like it or not. But if we continue battling, we will not only save souls, we will be made new. This is what we are here for, to save the lost and to give our lives to bring them to Christ. This will bring Glory and Honor to our LORD and King Jesus Christ.
Speaking of being made new, I will try to write my next newsletter about that subject. “Broken to be made new”
Maybe in a few weeks or so.
Thank you again for your support, prayers and love towards me and my family. God will bless you for that.
