Good day my dear brothers and sisters. May our Father be with you all and may you walk in the peace of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ.
We should all know what a stuntman is, right? He takes the place of an actor for various scenes in a movie, shows, videos, etc.. The stuntman might have the hardest and most dangerous scenes to do. But even if he does a wonderful job, the actor gets the credit, praise and glory. Well, the character in said movie that is. Sometimes the stuntman is injured, usually little nicks here and there. At times they are severely injured or even die doing these stunts. It seems that the job requires dangerous acts, it comes with the territory. When the scene comes out perfect and the character of the movie leaves the audience in awe. Who do you think gets the credit? Yep, that actor does.
You might see or hear the stuntman’s name at times. But even if you know that he did the stunt, be honest. Do you really give him the credit?
You might say, “Wow, what a great scene, what a great movie, etc.”. Most of the time the stuntman does not get the credit from the fans, or from most movie goers, etc.. Now, that stuntman will be sought out by producers, directors, actors and more film making people. They know his worth and will use him because of it.
I imagine that you know by now where I am going with this Letter. Are you willing to be a stuntman for Christ? One that is willing to put his life in danger for the Superstar of this Story, our LORD Jesus Christ. That any and all the glory for the work done in your life be unto Jesus Christ. Are you willing to go unnoticed? Unknown?
I see so many people that will risk a lot for their “legacy”. But when it comes down to losing one’s life for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we tend to shy away from it. What do you want my fellow brothers and sisters? Be honest with yourselves. Do you want the glory? Do you want the praise? Do you want the credit? It sure feels good, I know this for a fact.
When I was teaching in the seminars and students would come up to me in tears saying how they were alive today because of our work. When they would hug and kiss me. How do you think I felt? It felt great. As the Bible says: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35.
It would bless my soul to receive this gratitude from another person that has been affected by my life. And that is a good thing of course. But the stuntman does not always enjoy the champagne, the after parties, the “good times”. Sometimes we “stuntmen for Christ” take a licking and still need to keep on ticking.
When the going gets tough, are the tough going to keep on going forward? or are we going to quit?
When you don’t see the results, the good times, the praises, the glory, the hugs, the tears of joy, the kisses, the love, the fruits of your labors, the credit. Are you still going to press on?
You see those “rewards” that I mentioned above, they are motivating for sure. But what if you receive the opposite, what then? Are you still going to take that “stuntman’s leap of faith”? Are you still going to do that dangerous “stunt”, and make the jump? When you know your gonna or could “break a leg” or become “injured” and then rejected by people. Will you still go on? Now that you aren’t useful to many, and you become a liability and then you get left in the dust, so to say. This is when you learn who you truly are. How what you did in the past was either for your glory, or for the glory of God.
I want to say that I have almost always served the LORD to see His name glorified. But I am only human and at times I admit I liked the praise that can come with serving God. I even fed off that praise at times. And shouldn’t we be proud of doing good works? In our limited human minds we think; “Why yes of course”. It would be crazy not to. But that is where the devil slick as he is, gets in on us. We tend to drop our guard in the good times and the devil takes advantage of that.
Therefore our Father in heaven, through trials and circumstances, reminds us of why we as His son’s do what we do. And for
Whom we do it.
As it says in Matthew 5:16-“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
We do what we do so that our Father in heaven is glorified!!!
This life isn’t made to be easy. Easy only weakens the warriors of God. We must stand at guard at all times.
Read Ephesians 6:10-20. You will only be able to stand against evil with the whole armor of God. Know it!!! Use it at all times!!! This spiritual warfare is ongoing and is intensifying day by day, as the LORD’s return nears.
We must ask ourselves. Will I be a bold stuntman for Christ? And will I share the Gospel of Grace to all no matter the cost?
Am I willing to risk my life for the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Jesus says in Luke 9:23-24-“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.”
Are you willing to seek and to save that which is lost as Jesus Christ did for you? Jesus says in Luke 19:10-“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost.”
The main Character in this movie we call life is the LORD Jesus Christ, whether we want it that way or not. And He wants us to be the “stuntman for Him”. We are to be His hands and feet to reach those who are lost. So step in the shoes of Jesus and do it for Him. And when the job is finished and He receives all the glory. You can say,”LORD, I did it to glorify you my KING. Here is my life LORD, take it a living sacrifice for Thee. Whether I be rejected, persecuted, injured, abused, or whatever may come. I will take that leap of faith and I will do what is called of me. Wont you do the same?
