Why is America in the State it is in today? Part VIII
“The only thing man has ever learned from history is that; man has NEVER learned from history!”
I have heard that quoted for decades but the older I get the more that statement rings true; especially today. America is repeating history today but BAD history not good! America has let what happened to failed Governments, Empires and Kingdoms happen to her as if it never happened before in history even though the warnings are crystal clear and the results horrible! How can this be? Why would man with all the advancements in in technology, science and intellect be SO FOOLISH & IGNORANT ( Ignorance meaning “to ignore”), to allow our country and yes our world to self-destruct FOR the same reasons that led to the destruction billions of people in the past with untold misery?
The answer is clear and simple, but man does not want to acknowledge it. It all has to do with the GREATEST and most precious gift that God gave man called – FREE WILL! God does not want us to love and obey Him without a choice like a robot but with our own decision. Would any of you want someone to love you because they had to or because they wanted to of their own will? This gift from God is also very powerful in the fact that it can give man liberty or give him bondage not only in this life but FOREVER! Man needs to use this gift very carefully. Man has the ability to choose what he or she “wants or desires” no matter the consequences.. The capability of seeing something that is bad and will cause great hardship to oneself and all they love but still choose it! That is a powerful ability. If one does choose to do something that will do them harm it sounds like insanity to me. Not only do I agree that those decisions are incredibly stupid to do but I have done them myself and so have you so we can all empathize with the world. In fact, this “self-inflicted tragedy of man” has happened since the beginning. Is there any end to this spiral of destruction found in man? Is it possible to take “another road” or another way to changing this fatalistic view of life? The good news is “YES” but ONLY if you choose it.
Even though history is marred with horrible events there have been a few very encouraging stories of those that overcame by choosing the right road and changed the course of their lives and in a few instances whole countries. But many times after a people were blessed by using their “free will” correctly the next generation turned from God and it became even worse for them. To know the right things to do and turn from it is very foolish indeed. Look at what the Scriptures say about that here.
“For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, then, after they have known it, to turn from the Holy Commandment. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again; the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire,” II Peter 2:20-22
But to those that steadfastly and continuously seek Him this will be their testimony as was King David’s! “I waited patiently for the LORD and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a Rock, and established my goings. and He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.” Psalm 40:1-3
Whether you believe me or not it all goes back to what God has told man from the beginning. “In the beginning”, God the ALL powerful, ALL present, ALL knowing, ALL loving and created ALL that there is, with man included in “the purpose” to live joyfully with Him in humble submission to His Gracious Loving Authority. The problem is that man rebelled by using that “wonderful gift” of God called “free will” against God and in consequence “must” suffer the punishment of that rebellion: physical and spiritual death under the wrath of that same God! He did not want it to be so from the beginning. “God is not slack concerning His promises, as some men count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, “Not willing” that any should perish but all come to repentance.” 2nd Peter 3:9 (Emphasis mine) “Repentance” means man changing his mind or decisions to be in conformity to God’s will. And this is God’s will and always has been His will for mankind since the beginning.
So the answer to America’s state it finds itself today is to “repent”, and following Him and His ways and not ours which only end up in destruction when contrary to His laws. Look what the LORD has done for us ALL. The end doesn’t have to be misery and destruction my friends! He even provides mercy for them that hate Him! Look at his promises to all nations If we use our free will to accept Him. “I will greatly REJOICE in the LORD, my soul shall be JOYFUL in my God: for He hath CLOTHED me with the garments of SALVATION, He hath COVERED ME with the ROBE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (His Righteousness), as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a BRIDE ADORNETH herself with her jewels. For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and AS the garden causes the things that are sown in it to SPRING FORTH, SO THE LORD GOD WILL CAUSE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PRAISE TO SPRING FORTH BEFORE ALL THE NATIONS.” Isaiah 61:10-11 (Emphasis mine)
This is what the LORD wants for this world! It will happen one day to AL those that accept His Salvation my friends. God is a loving God and Father that wants the BEST FOR US ALL!
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of PEACE, and NOT of evil, to GIVE YOU an expected end. THEN shall you CALL upon ME, and YE shall go and PRAY unto me, and I WILL HARKEN UNTO YOU. And YE SHALL SEEK ME, and FIND ME, WHEN YE SHALL SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART.” Jeremiah 29:11-13 (Emphasis mine) You want the peace that He promises and NOT the evil? PRAY and SEEK Him with ALL YOUR HEART and you shall find him. This is what will change you and this is what will change our nation, and this is what will change THIS WORLD.
“For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the LORD (Jesus) Shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
This is a Promise from God and He does not lie!
“In hope of ETERNAL LIFE, which GOD, that CANNOT LIE, PROMISED BEFORE THE WORLD BEGAN.” Titus 1:2
I love you all but more importantly the LORD loves you. Will you seek Him today.
