A Mother’s Visit, A Son’s Faith, and God’s Faithfulness

To everyone who helped and prayed for me Barbara Grenon- Jonathan Grenon’s mom

I was able to go visit my son Jonathan for the second time in 2 years. He is still in Mississippi. God truly blessed the visit.   It was so different from last year which was the first visit in almost 5 years since he was taken away from us and put into prison.

Last year was very emotional but, this year our visit was different.  Not just because they will be out sooner than last year but because as each day goes by and we are closer to God.  We actually had a few laughs and smiled.  A few blessings.  Jon had not had popcorn for a long time if not ever since being there.

Before I got to the jail we talked about what he wanted from the vending machines.    There are choices that they dont have there.   He said he wanted popcorn.   I was one of the first ones in so I looked at the machines and there was one package -JUST FOR HIM!  Simple things in life are sometimes the best.   we talked for about 5 and a half hours  about everything; family  and food – what he would like me to cook when he is out.  How his kids are doing.

The jobs he has working there.   He does alot of translating because he is fluent in Spanish.  You see how God already had that part of his life planned growing up on the mission field in a Spanish country.

I could write a lot more but just wanted to share a bit of my trip with everyone and ask you to continue to pray for him.

We also talked about how God is providing for us all and all we can do for the Lord.   Also, how he is helping us get close to Him and to trust each day to him no matter what.   Please start to pray for my next trip to see my other son Jordan who is also incarcerated for the same reason.    That will probably be in Sept or October   God bless you all and thank you

Barbara  (Jon’s mom)
